MemoQ is Free for Universities and Other Institutions
¬ Universities and other educational institutions can have their computer labs equipped with MemoQ for free. The educational license is equivalent to the strongest networked license of MemoQ.
Kilgray will agree to provide free educational licenses if the university or other institution offers translator training, and agrees to:
- include MemoQ skills in the curriculum of translator training;
- advertise Kilgray's support on the university web site, and allow Kilgray to include the university in its communication as a reference;
- provide three days a year when Kilgray or its subsidiaries can use the university computer labs to deliver training to third parties.
On request, we are also willing to train the trainers of the universities or institutions. The principal means for this are the MemoQ Seminars, but individual courses are also possible.
¬ To request the free educational licenses, universities or other educational institutions may contact Balázs Kis at balazs.kis [at] kilgray.com.
MemoQ Courses
On request, Kilgray provides training on MemoQ so that translation companies and professionals can exploit MemoQ's benefits to the maximum extent. The courses can be at various levels and of various lengths.
¬ The most important introductory courses are the MemoQ Seminars that show the use of MemoQ in team translation.
Other individual one- and two-day courses are also possible
- for at least five students at a time;
- with detailed and practice-oriented courseware;
- at an agreed venue;
- at an agreed pricing.

Trainers Wanted
Kilgray staff members deliver courses on CAT tools and team translation at several universities in Hungary, including the most prominent translator training centres.
Due to increasing demand, Kilgray's own capacities may become insufficient to fulfil training tasks. We are seeking active and aspiring trainers who are planning to teach the use of CAT tools including MemoQ, in their own institutions, and occasionally - under Kilgray's commission - to third parties.
¬ In 2004, Balázs Kis had a paper on CAT tools in the translators' classroom at IV Jornadas sobre la Formación y Profesión del Traductor e Intérprete, Universidad Europea de Madrid, Madrid, Spain. Click here to read the paper in English.
